Individuals in receipt of a low income may also receive help towards the cost of spectacles or contact lenses via the NHS. Eligibility includes anyone receiving, or whose partner receives income support, income based jobseeker's allowance, income related employment and support allowance (ESA), pension credit, guarantee credit or tax credit with an exemption certificate. Those on a low income but not receiving the benefits listed may also be entitled to help from the NHS by filling out an HC1 form found in store.

Sight Tests

NHS sight tests at IntelliSight Opticians are just as in-depth as private tests. Included are detailed questions surrounding your vision with and without spectacles or contact lenses (if you wear them). We will also investigate how your eyes look and feel, any medical history and ask about general health and lifestyle whilst offering tailored advice. An NHS sight test also includes an assessment of the health of your eyes inside and out, looks at how well your eyes work together, and takes into consideration the power of existing spectacles or contact lenses required. Upon completion customers are issued with a prescription explaining our findings alongside specific recommendations. From spectacles to drops and even help to quit smoking, we have the knowledge and know how.

NHS Vouchers

NHS vouchers can be used when purchasing both glasses and contact lenses for single vision distance or reading glasses, bifocals or varifocals. When shopping in our range of frames between £24 and £44, this means glasses will be entirely free of charge. Should you choose a higher priced item, the NHS voucher still applies with only the difference to be paid. For example, frames costing £68 will cost you just £10.
